Aggrey Memorial beats Accra Aca in Valco tournament Accra

Ghana, May 10 - Aggrey Memorial on Monday beat defending champions Accra Academy by a lone goal in the second annual Valco invitational football tournament played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Wiiliam Koranteng scored the only goal for his side in the 45th minute.

The game travelled 80 minutes, 409 minutes for each half. Accra Academy who started on a good note nearly scored in the 27th minute when Ali Sibah sent a powerful shot at goal.

However, goalkeeper Issah Mohammed of Aggrey saved the situation.

Aggrey came back from recess an improved side and found the net five minutes into the second half.

Koranteng picked a loose ball from midfield and intelligently chipped it over goalkeeper Edward Sackey of Accra Academy who had moved off his line.

In the latter stages of the match, the Accra Aca boys laid siege to the Aggrey goal area but goalkeeper Mohammed stood between them and the equaliser.
