Michael & George Launch Debut Album

Ghanaian gospel music artistes and gospel music lovers gear themselves up for the 2nd Ghana Gospel Music Awards that is scheduled to take place at the nation?s most glamorous theatrical edifice, the National Theatre on May 1, 2004, under the theme: ?Possessing the land for Christ through Gospel Music,? there is yet another entrant on the scene.

?Michael and George? as they are called, may be new entrants on the music scene, but now new in the music world. Michael Nii Tettey Aflasher Annang, the leader of the group has been actively involved in music over the past 20 years, whilst George has had a span of about 10 years.

Michael and George make a big bang on the gospel music scene tomorrow, Sunday, March 28, with the launching of their new album entitled ?Dzielo Kpakpa? at the Osu Presbyterian Church Hall, Accra.

Other tracks on the album are: Nobody, Lord, I lift your name, Dzielo ko be, asa Ayeyie, Hosanna and others.

Michael had many recordings with such household names in the Ghanaian music scenes as Faisal Helwani, Nature & Agony, Okereman Asantem, Nie Robertson and Tinny Flesh. He has also played alongside musicians like Stars Plange, Max Hammond, ED Ntreh and many more.

Michael, popularly known as ?Aflasher? has backed such great artistes as C.K. Mann, Pat Thomas, Paapa Yankson, A.B. Crenstil, Ebo Taylor and the great highlife king of Africa, Sir Victor Wiafo.

Aflasher, a versatile musician, is great to behold on the Keyboard. He is also a Bassist and Percussionist. He is an Associate Pastor of the Faith Evangelical Church, Osu-Accra.

George Nii Addy has also had outings over a ten period as lead organist and bassist with the Cherubim and Seraphim Seat of God Mission of La and Madina respectively.

Other artistes who would be appearing on stage at tomorrow?s launching at 4:00 p.m. prompt are Jude Lomotey, Willy Charles, Raymond Mensah and the Shakana Praise Choir.

The album was jointly produced by Michael and George themselves.
