Kobby Set To Release ?The Fall?

On the surface, Kobby is just TN Records’ flamboyant artiste to emerge since Dompe. But upon closer inspection, the Takoradi-born, Accra-based cotemporary highlifer, who has played his role on several hits like ‘Namo Toabo Yaafo’ with Shoto (a collaboration song in 2002), has an interesting story of his own to tell.

Born in 1976 as Bernard Papa Kwabena Aidoo to Mr. E.B Aidoo and Madam Alice Abena Anane, Kobby’s musical roots run deep. His uncle, the late Isaac Aidoo was a respected highlife musician who used to tell him to help him when he (his uncle) is singing. “When he was about to die, he called me to sing his favourite song that no one knew how to sing,” said Kobby.

Along the line that is in 1987, he was encouraged by a man to do music since he saw the best in him even though he wanted to stop. His contracts started dissolving from 1996 when he met Ofori Amponsah who after seeing what he had in store wanted to produce him but to no avail since he left for U.S.A through to 2001 where he was introduced to Lowdown records by K.K Fosu and also turned out negative.

In 2004, he was handpicked by Tic Tac to join the TN Records’ family. Tic Tac took him to Creative Studios (owned by Apietus) and Best Brain Studios (with Roland at the helm) to record his album and in the month of April 2005, the album was finished.
