Jay Z Excited About Ghana Show

Jay Z says he is very excited about coming to Ghana. In a television interview he said ?Everyone on my team is excited about it and I?m bringing my mum with me. She wants to come to Africa?.

The Brooklyn based Hip Hop legend told Chris Attoh, events manager at Charterhouse this is his first time in Africa ?I don?t have any memories about Africa because this is the first time and I?m excited about it. The first thing that comes to mind about Africa is home because that was where it all started from so it?s really an overwhelming experience?.

About why he choose it retire his music at this time he said ?most artistes don?t get the chance to ascend to the executive level to head a corporation like Def Ham so when you are in that position you have to do it to show it can be done so that when the younger generation get to this point they?ll do even more?.

Jay Z will arrive in Ghana in his private jet with his 30 man crew on October 4 inclusive his boys from Rocca Wear and Def Jam Records. As part of his pilgrimage, he will be commissioning some projects on behalf of the UN across Africa and in Ghana.

The Accra International Conference Centre is expected to be thronged on October 6 by tons of music lovers who will witness the best of Jay Z and his star musician lover Beyonce.

Charterhouse, organizers of the show, says Jay Z will use the tour, which he calls ?the African pilgrimage? to learn as much as possible about the continent. He will also look into the possibility of collaborating with some local artistes. ?Based on discussions Charterhouse had with his record label [Def Jam records], he intends to unearth some talents whiles in Ghana,? says Chris Attoh.

?What we found most exciting is that he requested to be furnished with some of the hottest Hip Life songs in the country and he intends to remix them to create something awesome during his concert here.?

Meanwhile, Charterhouse is partnering with the mobile content provider, Mobistar, to run a competition which will make it possible for some 300 people to watch the Jay Z concert on Friday night for free and get some photo opportunities with the super star.
