Jay Q breaking into the Naija music market

Now with a basket full of hit singles under his belt and bragging rights of working with several a-list artists, Jay Q has grown into one of the go-to beat makers in the industry. We got a chance to pick on his brain far from the United States of America.

With all this talk of change we need some new and different flavors.  Right now Nigerians are ‘running things’ on the Ghanaian music industry.  It’?s time for somebody to change the game and? to come with a new style or flow that shakes up everything to the point it makes cats rethink their whole approach to the music.

It has happened before, in fact, it has happened twice before.  I’?m talking of the producer/sound engineer who influenced the whole game with his jama beats and this time round he is getting nearer to musicians in the states and his fans especially the ladies again.

Jay Q put a question to us straight saying that he has realized that Nigerians are not doing crunk but they are making it, why? As a result, Jay Q has a strategy which is to blend their music with our rhythm to which they have been dancing to which will definitely put Ghanaian music on the Naija market.

The reason why Nigerians are ‘hitting’ is that they are over 100 million population and we are only 20 million in number thus if u ‘hit’ in Nigeria alone, u are better off?, Jay Q said.

We went further to ask him why he is now going to where the money is and he added that “?Market is market irrespective of its location, in business you go for where the money is, no matter where it is, it?’s the market?. ?I have done two remixes so far which are ‘Aso’ by 9nice and another version of Olu Maintain’?s ?’Yahooze’?.

Jay Q continues that it will be difficult for Ghanaians to catch up because aside the music they have business men to push the musicians.

Jay Q also resounded to us that crunk music is killing us and that any genre of music Ghanaian musicians hear, they wanna do some. ?Let?’s identify what is ours and make it loudable enough so that the whole world will hear it. From ?Do Me?, ?Yahooze?, ?Aso?, ?Sister? and more, we don?t hear crunk in them ?do we? he said.

Another news coming from the camp of Q Lex Entertainment owned by Jay Q is that they are collaborating with Supremo, award winning director in Nigeria to take Shilo to the next level. When pushed to the wall that Shilo?’s album hasn?’t got any jama or Ghanaian beats, he cunningly said ?”You have only heard one song and seen its video”?.

I think from what I got from Jay Q, he is gonna change the game again not only by entering the Nigerian music market but has more surprises up his sleeves. For musicians who wanna book studio sessions with him, please call 001 404 536 7120 and 001 630 362 3409.

From working with Ghanaian musicians and helping them with ground break hit song, Ghana Music.com can come to the conclusion that his music talents are undeniable and humbly possessed.
