Ghana's international Afro Roots Reggae artist, Rocky Dawuni, will headline the event with a group of leading artists in celebration and convergence of African music, culture, art, business and entertainment. Rocky Dawuni, together with his partners Cary Sullivan and Bob Dawuni began Independence Splash in 2001 based on Rocky's large and fervent following in Ghana to create the blueprint for a global festival of African culture. Ghana's Independence Day is of great significance because it was the first Sub-Saharan African country to attain independence and the most politically stable in the sub region. The festival annually features artists and styles of music spawned by Africa and the African Diaspora including African Reggae, High Life, Hip Life & more.

Independence Splash has attracted an annual audience of 25,000 people from the West African sub-region and an increasing number of people making the trip from Europe and the USA realizing Africa Live!'s purpose of connecting Ghana's music and culture with the world. "Rocky Dawuni's Independence Splash 2006" is a co-production of SIGN AFRICA,AQUARIAN Records and Africa Live!
