Hurray!!! Entertainment review is “One Year”

The current entertainment scene is blessed with one of the finest program ever witnessed in recent times. It brought with it a new excitement and dynamism incorporated into one basket and named Entertainment Review (ER) on Peace 104.3 Fm with it anchorman Akwasi Aboagye the Darling Boy celebrates its one year in existence.

In fact it is not a joke to host a program of this caliber which is surrendered with controversies to maintain such a high level performance and level headedness.

I have had the opportunity to participate in their discussion and did some phone-in interviews about issues bordering the industry music so I know how serious the program is and I must congratulate Kwesi and his lieutenants for a good job done over the 12-month period. Like I once said, “this is one program that speaks for musicians and mouth piece of artists”.  I am proud of the achievement of (E R) at least it has helped to expose and revealed some “wrongs and rights” in our entertainment industry. Of all the topics, the one that endeared my heart most is the A-Pluz issue with Kwesi Aboagye, Charles Amoah’s castigation of the host right at the studio without any heckling or off-air syndrome, that he doesn’t understand the reason why Kwesi should be part of a jury who were to scrutinize would be aspirants and the on-going Face of Ghana pageant issue.

In a telephone conversation Kwesi Aboagye told Weekly Fylla that he is seeking to improve the program content to make it rare and more functional.  “You know in every human institution one is inspired to grow or move forward in his field of endeavor I see myself as a student of progression. I wish to do more to stay at the top and be at the top of issues so that we can relate better” he stated.

He also promised to improve his production team to scout for its own news items than over reliance of newspaper information in order to keep abreast with current happenings in the entertainment world. “We wish to take this program to another level, just like any Breakfast Show in the country” he said ambitiously.

On how he is able to tolerate all shades of views from his listeners and even his own panel members he had this to say; “you and I know I am quite temperamental but over the years I have learnt to be tolerant and tune down my temperament.  I tried as mush as possible to be objective and fair to all sort of people. We have to agree and disagree and move on” he claimed.

He agreed to a suggestion that he has to beef up his panel of discussants and production team to make it more viable so that in the near future when they request for extension of time they won’t be caught wanting. He revealed that he hope to maintain his present squared of Carlos Sakyi, Arnold Asamoah, Mark Okrakue Mantey and largely Isaac.

How can I conclude without saying big ups to Eugene Osafo-Nkansah and Vida Adu Twum Boateng for their pioneering role during the year.
