Last Saturday, the Accra International Conference Centre hosted the launch of Josh Laryea and Ophelia Nyantakyi’s latest albums in an exciting concert dubbed “Cross Africa Kingdom Praise 2005” organised by Lisarf Music Production.

Ushers dressed in the traditional Kente cloth, welcomed the audience to the auditorium and while patrons waited for the show to start, video clips of the two performers were shown.

Abeiku Santana, Rev. Gabriel Ansah and Owusu Ansah, were MCs for the day. The evening opened with Maame Serwaah who performed a song from her maiden album and despite being a new artiste on the Lisarf label, she performed creditably and enjoyed loud applause from the audience.

Other artistes who also performed were Nicholas Omani Acheampong, Yaw Barimah, and Rev.Yawson with the Tagoe sisters, Moses O.K, Kwaku Gyasi, Florence Obinim, David Agbobli from Togo and South African singer King Jomo.

When Grace Ashie mounted the stage, everybody joined in the singing and dancing and the audience called for more after her performance.

Josh Laryea’s performance was supported by a beautifully choreographed dance by a group of children who were clad in white and orange costumes.

Ophelia Nyantakyi, backed by husband Collins, was accompanied by a man dressed like an Angel to sing some songs on her latest album. She did not only sing but also ministered through her songs which put the audience in a worship mood.

Speaking to Showbiz later, Josh Laryea said that they chose the theme “Cross Africa Kingdom Praise” because all the participating musicians were collectively children in God’s kingdom who had come together to give praise to God.

South African musician, King Jomo and David Agbobli whose music were also produced by Lisarf said that they were both proud to be in Ghana and also part of the launch.
