Funnyman, Loyiso Gola to host Channel O Music Video Awards

All-round funnyman, Loyiso Gola has been announced as the host of the 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards. He will be joined by a host of Channel O’s most popular presenters including Kabelo and Lungile, Top Mais presenter Weza, 100% Naija’s Tana and Dineo Moeketsi who was recently revealed as the new presenter of the next season of O Access.

Gola says he is buzzed about being part of this year’s event – taking place on Thursday November 4 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. “I am honoured, privileged and excited about hosting this year’s Channel O Music Video Awards,” the comedian says. “I have grown up watching Channel O and I am really looking forward to working with some of the most talented artists on the continent as the host. It’s going to be fantastic and I hope I can make a significant contribution in this regard!”

Gola is no stranger to hosting high-profile entertainment events. Still in his twenties this award-winning, straight-talking comedian has played host to both the Hype Awards as well as the South African Music Awards, to mention a few – and now expands that to reach a pan African audience with his role as presenter of the 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards.

Gola is likely to bring the unique, observational commentary – that has seen him open for international superstars Russell Peters and Sugar Sammy – to his role as host this year. Add in a lineup of Channel O presenters and you have a gathering of entertainment talent will ensure the 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards are nothing short of memorable!
