Elizabeth, The Gospel Music Queen

The new gospel music sensation in the Central Region is Mrs. Ohenma Naana Elizabeth Brebi, 36.

Her debut album has ten highly religious songs and bears the title track, 'Gye no Di'.

Other tracks are 'Nyame Tease', 'Abandzindzin', 'Nyanko Pa', 'Wo Mbo No Ose' and 'Nyame Ye Ohen'. The rest are 'Yebe Sum Wo' , 'Kunimdefo', 'Aseda Ka' and instrumentals.

All songstress who recently spoke to 'Spectators Arts' after a successful performance at Cape Coast, said she fellowships with International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), and is also a member of the Fire Angels, the Ghana Fire Service Band.

Elizabeth says she takes after her father, Mr. Joseph Gaisie, who had also been role model.

She called for a strong public support for up-and-coming artistes to also attain stardom.

Elizabeth would also like MUSIGA to conduct workshops and seminars on copyright and related matters for members so that they can be aware of their rights, privileges and responsibilities.

She firmly supports the idea of the re-introduction of liveband music as a way of musicians can earn a decent living.

Elizabeth lamented that many talented individuals are currently roaming the streets because there is no state support for the arts and entertainment industry.

"There are alot that needs to be done for this industry which has never known peace only because the major players in the industry are not getting a fair deal. Musicians need jobs, but where are the instruments? Government should think seriously about it. The private sector should also focus on the industry", she said.
