Elivava To Perform in Germany For The FIFA World Cup

With the release of his fifth album, Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah aka Tic Tac has reconfirmed his consistency in the local and international music scene, being one artiste who has endeared himself to music enthusiasts the world over.

That his latest album Accra Connection is bound to be another success story cannot be disputed by anyone who was at the launch last Friday at the Erata Hotel in Accra.

Listening to song after song, one couldn?t help giving it up for the young man who happens to be the vice-president of the Greater Accra Regional Branch of MUSIGA.

Currently enjoying appreciable airplay both on radio and television is Beware of Dogs which features Ex-Doe and Mercy of Triple M fame.

A vintage Tic Tac kind of music, very danceable and a potential sing-along.I thought I had found my personal favourite on the album when I first heard Beware of Dogs till I heard other songs like Kangaroo featuring Batman and Giggy Bambam which features Tony Tetuila.

Frankly, if Tic Tac continues the way he is going now, churning good quality music that goes down well with the young and old, then he is sure to win lots more admirers than he already has.

Tic Tac, who now spots a new look with a low hair-cut expressed his profound gratitude to the media for supporting him over the years.

?Sincerely, the press has been very kind to me in various ways, this then gives me the confidence to continue my works as a musician, and to agitate and crusade against social ills that impede progress through the medium of my music and other works.?

His gratitude also went to MUSIGA for believing in a united Ghana and Africa. Though time-consuming, the sampling of all the songs at the launch was an exciting moment with people nodding and others dancing in their seats in obvious approval.

Tic Tac took time to explain the theme and rational for all the songs.

Before launching the album, government spokesperson, Mr Kwabena Adjepong congratulated Tic Tac on his new album and urged Ghanaian musicians to grow large saying music is a global business, ?the music industry in some parts of the world has a big potential, I believe we can do same here,? he said.

Mr Adjepong tasked the media to position musicians where they belong and finally advised the latter to keep their heads on their shoulders and learn to handle stardom.

The official launching was followed by popping of champagne after which Batman, on behalf of all musicians congratulated Tic Tac on the release of his album and his consistency.

Mr E. K. Duah, father of Tic Tac who chaired the launch and also the brain behind Tic Tac?s new look has been extremely supportive of his son said Tic Tac has been singing since age 12, ?he used to sing for the Fish Band,? he proudly said of his son.

It was very refreshing to learn at the launch that Puma Africa is to release a compilation album featuring the biggest artistes in the world, in aid of the upcoming Fifa World Cup.

The album entitled ?The African Game? will feature among others Ghana?s Tic Tac, Akon, John Legend, Baaba Maal and the Roots.

Tic Tac has also set up his own record label TN Records to give young and up coming musicians a chance in the Ghanaian music industry.

He is currently working on a new material for his forthcoming album which sees collaborations with Rhian Benson an international jazz artist, JJC &419 Squad, KORA award winners and Sway, the best hip-hop artist at last year?s MOBO awards.

The Accra Connection album, a TN Records and Kafina Management production, will be released on April 24.
