Disunity in Gospel industry is due to greed - OJ

Gospel musician, OJ Known in real life as Michael Oware Sakyi says he agrees with music producer Roland Ackah popularly known as Roro’s comments that there is no unity amongst Gospel musicians.

Roro alleged in an interview on Hitz Entertainment News ‘that things are not really going well with the lifestyle of most gospel artistes’.

Confirming this on Hitz Entertainment News on the Cruise Control, OJ' cited his reasons for supporting Roro’s assertion saying, “this is very common especially among Gospel musicians who do the same type of music, which is the reason they compete against each other.

“He also added that there was a lot of competition in the gospel music industry because the artistes have lost their calling and are pursuing something else which they were not called to do”, he added.

He however explained that “if anyone competes with his fellow gospel musician, then it means you are not gifted enough or you don’t value what God has given you.”

OJ added that "I advise them to get closer to those who are doing well and learn from them but instead, they envy them".

This, OJ said is not new in the gospel music industry “so let’s not pretend or cover it up, let’s speak the truth.”

He says he feels sad when they go for shows and gospel musicians quarrel, and then he is forced to ask if they are not Christians. “If you see what happens backstage when we go for shows, you would ask yourself if we are Christians.”
