Diana?s Vision Takes A Leap

Diana Akiwumi The gospel songstress Diana Akiwumi in collaboration with La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel has organised an exceptional musical and choreographic night,at the conference centre of the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel with songs from Diana?s new album last saturday.

Starting with a prayer and a worship song,Diana?s colleagues joined her to exalt the lord with song ministration from her old albums.They did songs such as Onyame Ye Odomfo, Agyenkwahene Kese, Yeyi Wo Aye Daa, Chineke (meaning my God is so good to me),I will lift Him Up Higher and Yesu Mo.

Patience Anyaku another wonderful singer from Jos Plateau State, Nigeria, paired with Diana to sing some more beautiful songs. Patience also partnered Diana to perform her new song, Africa America.

Rev. Faithful Biney, The Director of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Ghana, on video, showed the purpose of the gathering, ?You are here tonight to witness a vision that has been born in the heart of Diana Akiwumi?.

? Diana came to study in our training centre in Tema and in sharing ideas with her, I found out that she has a vision that has burdened her heart and that vision is to see young talented future arts students, begin to emerge in our schools and also be able to draw them out for further training.In view of this? I will ask you all to throw your support behind this laudable vision to see it come to pass?.

The performing Arts and Ministry and Tongan Brothers who use the performing arts to evangelise performed a nice and refreshing choreography with Diana after which another video was shown introducing the PAM?s first project.

Other artists who came to grace the occasion were Pastor Josh Laryea, Jude Lomotey, Andy Frimpong Manso, Grace Ashy, Collins Nyantakyi and Brew Riverson Jnr who was also the MC. With each artiste holding a flag signifying a Tsunami affected conutry,the artist made a presentation to the victims.

Showbiz later spoke to some members in the audience including 49-year old Mr Micheal Ofori a business man, who said he really enjoyed the show but was sad afterwards because of the way the Tsunami presentation was made. According to him he felt very sorry for the affected victims.

Diana Akiwumi told Showbiz after the show that this was her first project and because she is a musician herself she wants to make her experiences known to the up coming musicians to fulfil their dreams.

She noted however that, most people did not want to redeem their culture,they think money should only go to the poor and the needy.She believes that projects like hers should be funded to help more people achieve their aims, and thanked God that everything went smoothly.
