Captain Planet to make history at 2018 VGMA

Hiplife artiste, Sylvanus Dodji Jeoffrey aka Captain Planet, is set to make history as he gears up to win an award at the Vodafone Ghana Music awards which comes off today, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

As the leader of celebrated Hip-life/hip-pop group 4X4 with hit songs like ‘Siklitele’ and ‘Waist & Power”, Captain Planet took the music scene by storm in the year under review with his smashing hit song,’Obi Agyi Obi Girl’.

"Obi Agyi Obi Girl’ that features Kofi Kinaata, is one of the hit songs for 2017 that talks about how painful it is when one’s girlfriend is snatched from him and how enjoyable it is when someone takes another person’s girlfriend.

Most music fans Razzonline.com spoke with in line with the artistes they are looking up to win an award at the event tonight showered praises on Captain Planet for his achievements as a solo artiste in the year under review.

According to the fans, it would give the award scheme immense credibility if Captain Planet should at least win an award.

With five(5) nominations, Captain Planet becomes the artiste to emerge from a group to produce a solo song and bag the most nominations at this year’s event.

The ‘ Obi Agyi Obi’ hitmaker will be part of history again by joining an artiste like Afriyie of Wutah fame to win an award as a solo artiste.

Sponsored by telecommunication giants Vodafone, and organized by Charterhouse Ghana, the Ghana Music Awards is an award scheme designed to recognize, celebrate the hard work and dedication of various stakeholders and players in the entertainment industry.

The event will be mediated by popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo and Berla Mundi.
