Becca is still my girl - Kiki

Following rumors around town and in the media that Mr. Emmanuel Kiki Banson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EKB Records is at loggerheads with one of his top artist, Becca, Fylla followed up on the rumor and can say with all certainty that Kiki and Becca are as cool as one can describe it.

“It’s unfortunate that some people could think of such a thing, Kiki said.

“Becca and I had a discussion about her future concerning an offer from a South African record label, a subsidiary of Motown Records in the US, but we both realized that it would be a wrong approach for Becca to jump for such an offer. We are still grooming her and soon her price would be more than the 5000, 000 thousand dollars they want to part with”.

Kiki went further to explain that as part of the contract put forward by the record company, Becca has the right to choose who her manager should be and from close sources there is no way Becca would like to part company with Kiki at such a point in time in her career.

Becca has been quoted in a section of the media that though her ultimate aim as an artist was to make a mark on the international scene; she felt there was still more experience to gain. “I think I still have a lot to learn from my current managers as far as my personal development is concerned.

Though I’m not against the idea of being signed onto the world-acclaimed label, I believe it is too early in the day”.

According to Becca, though the money involved in the deal is significant, she feels she might not have the chance to perform to the best of her ability once she appends her signature to the contract.

She cited young and talented footballers, who she said followed money abroad and ended up warming the benches of their teams instead of being given the chance to play and demonstrate their skill.

“Though I have for a long time believed in the good judgments of my manager, I do not think I can agree with him this time round. I still have a lot to learn and upgrade myself before moving on.”

Both Kiki and Becca together in the company of members of EKB Records and some few friends were spotted at the KAMA Conference Center last weekend during the launch of Kwabena Kwabena’s latest album titled “Dabi”.
