With a number of hits on the music market, a times we fail to look back to see where it was produced. Kobby of Kingsbeat Music Productions is the man am talking of now.

Kobby’s various undertakings in the studio, writing and production techniques always sums up create classic albums.

Already the author of several Ghanaian music songs, T Blaze, Pat Thomas and Mama Cee are a few to have their works done at his well established studio.

“The sky is actually my limit and am hoping taking the Ghanaian music to every corner of the world” Kobby said.

Ghana Music.com: I don’t know you. What would be the best definition you would give me about yourself?

Kobby: My name is Kwabena Agyapong aka (Kobby), the first child of Mr. and Mrs. Osei who resides in Holland. I was taken to the Rev. John Teye Memorial School in Ofankor at the age of seven years this was because my parents discovered my music talent. I joined the school band during my study in John Teye and very proud to say we were the first African youth band at that time to represent the whole of West Africa in a youth festival in the UK, Harrogate. I furthered my education to Accra Academy and on completion did some few courses in music engineering since that was what I wanted to do as career. I worked in studios like Skillz Multimedia Company at Odorkor, DKB Studio, HushHush Studio, PSI Studio at Asylum Down, etc. before finally leaving to the UK for further studies in engineering.

Ghana Music.com: What is the name of your studio?

Kobby: Well, the name of my studio is Kingsbeat Music Productions.

Ghana Music.com: Which artistes have had the privilege of been in your studio?

Kobby: Most of the UK and Ghanaian artistes but to mention a few are Ofori Amponsah, K. K. Fosu, T-Blaze, Yoggi Doggi, Sonni Bali, Mama Cee, Ntatiah, etc.

Ghana Music.com: Which artiste (s) have you enjoyed working with?

Kobby: This is a very difficult question because I enjoy working with all of them, well I think I’ll mention K. K. Fosu, Mama Cee, the late Terry Bonchaka and Borax.

Ghana Music.com: What are your current productions?

Kobby: My current productions are T-Blaze (Made In Ghana), Pat Thomas (Wo Ba  Nnye) and Mama Cee – (Odo Paa Bei Nie).

Ghana Music.com: Who are the resident engineers at your studio?

Kobby: My residents’ engineers in my studio are Paul Bilson, Young Pac and Papa Slim.

Ghana Music.com: What makes your studio and production different from others?

Kobby: The difference is very clear, you know what, because of my music background, I always groom any artist that enters into my studio before we go down to business and of course do not copy other production houses, you only come out with Kobby’s signature which is very unique.

Ghana Music.com: What’s the future for you?

Kobby: The sky is actually our limit, taking Ghanaian music to every corner of the world.

Ghana Music.com:  What’s your greatest wish for the Ghanaian music industry?

Kobby: Is very simple, breaking through to the international market, period!!!.

Ghana Music.com: How do you compare the Ghanaian music industry to what you see in the UK?

Kobby: It’s rather sad, Ghanaian productions here in the UK are not promoted at all because they think it’s not better than the one coming from home.

Ghana Music.com: Please since you have nurtured a few musicians and been around for long. What is your advice to musicians?

Kobby: Thank you boss, Ghanaian musicians should b able to explore than limiting themselves to the one style productions, they should work hard to make hits for themselves than relying on engineers for hits.

Ghana Music.com: Your last words, Kobby?

Kobby: I will end by saying so far as I remain in God, He will surely make me the head not the tail, AAAAAAAMEEEEEEN.
