4x4 Adores Ghanaian Ladies On ?Contestant #1?

What the fans of 4x4 have been lingering for is finally out. The duo, comprised of Captain Planet and Abortion, is back after their breakthrough album ‘Siklitele’ with a new one titled ‘Contestant Number 1’.

Their touchstone album has become so popular among the hiplife community, driven by previous songs like ‘Siklitele’, ‘Repkete’ and ‘Kookoo Aduro’, and a single from Obrafour’s compilation – The Execution’s Diary, ‘Kpekpele’.

4x4’s rap style has also become widely known, driven by haunting lyrics and hard-hitting beats where Captain Planet does the first two verses and Abortion raggas on the third one. For records, Captain Planet is the only hiplife who can rap in Twi, Akuapem, Ga, Ewe and Pigden.

On their title track, ‘Contestant Number 1’, they want to tell Ghanaian women how special they are to them. “Many songs that come nowadays do not really talk good about our women. However, this particular track was to appreciate Ghanaian women for their support and hard work in all the things they do and to make them feel happy” they said.

Another song titled ‘Odo Fitaa’ is doing well on the airwaves. They featured Eddie Blay, Papa Shanty, Screwface, Bright of Buk Bak fame, Alhaji B and Messiah on the album.

In a way, 4x4 is preaching the gospel through their music to the Ghanaian communities because their music does not carry profane lyrics but only life and love messages only.

The sound engineers that worked on the album are Jay Q, Agyengo, and Sammy of PSI.? The second album of an artiste determines who you are and the good things you have. Thus, this really motivated them to put in more efforts in their second album.

Their first album, ‘Siklitele’ was a hit in some parts of the continent and in the next two or 3 years, they want to see themselves at a higher height in the industry.

'Kooko Eduro' and 'Odo Fitaa' are their favourite songs out of the two albums they have come out with.

4x4 became widely known after their first album and received nods at the Ghana Music Awards 2004 as new comers to the hiplife game in four categories and hope God will bless them with more awards with their latest album.

Their first album was managed by Prince Dave and the new album by Agiecoat.

They wish that all Ghanaians and outsiders would get a copy of their new album ‘Contestant Number 1’ because it really has a lot to tell Ghanaians.

It will come as no surprise if 90 percent of 4x4 fans are ladies because the rate at which ladies are flocking for copies on the music market is alarming and amazing.
