Takoradi/Tamale polytechnics are joint champions

Takoradi and Tamale Polytechnics tied for the first position with 120 points each in the athletics segment of the Ghana Polytechnics Games held at the University of Cape Coast Sports Grounds on Friday.

Cape Coast Polytechnic took the second position with 103 points, Kumasi Polytechnic was third with 53 points while Koforidua Polytechnic came fourth with 52 points.

Sunyani Polytechnic came fifth with 43 points and Accra Polytechnic came last with 20 points.

In the women's division, Tamale Polytechnic came first with 151 points, Cape Coast Polytechnic was second with 99 points while Sunyani Polytechnic came third with 61 points.

Takoradi Polytechnic took the fourth position with 40 points, Koforidua Polytechnic placed fifth with 36.5 points while Kumasi Polytechnic was sixth with 30 points and Accra Polytechnic came last with 7.5 points.

Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Youth, Education and Sports and his deputy, Mr Joe Aggrey were among dignitaries who watched the games.
