Eric Nkansah Beats European indoor champion

CHEMNITZ, Germany -- Ghana's Eric Nkansah won the final of the 60 meters here on Friday, as the European indoor champion Jason Gardener pulled up injured.

The British sprinter Gardener had blasted to a world-leading 6.51sec in his heat but he suffered a blow to his preparations for next month's world championships when he had to pull up in the final, allowing Erik Nkansah to win in 6.61sec.
