APSOG organises walk in Accra

Accra, Dec. 02, GNA - Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, Director-General of Ghana Health Service (GHS) has called on authorities of security organizations in the country to organize health walk monthly for their personnel to remain healthy. He made the call at the end of the maiden health walk organised by Association of Private Security Organizations in Ghana (APSOG) in Accra on Saturday.

The walk which started from Kwame Nkrumah Circle through Ringway Estates ended at El-Wak Stadium.

About 500 members of the association participated in the walk which was under the theme 93Healthy Life Through Brisk walk=94. It was to strengthen the cordial relationship among the 35 organizations that formed the association and in addition, create awareness about the existence of the organization. Prof. Akosa said exercise was the key to good health, without it there was no way anyone could enjoy better life.

He therefore, entreated the association not to rest on its oars to promote good health through sports among members.

The Director-General asked them to control their eating and drinking habits which played a vital role in their lives. Nana Adu Agyeman IV, Chairman of APSOG said the association would organise the walk quarterly and asked the members to take active interest in its activities. 02 Dec. 06
