12 Year Old wins ladies category of Upper West Millennium Marathon

Enterprising twelve year old primary two pupil Baduon Zuleiha has won the ladies category of the Upper West millennium marathon.

The shyful looking teen sensation led the 10.5 km race from start to finish in a teaming contingent of over 500 athletes.

Zuleiha raced her way to the podium in a blistering manner ahead of several title hopefuls to land herself a cash prize of GHC400.00 and souvenirs.

The Tumu Sakai Primary two pupil confirmed her territorial dominance over her much illustrious competitors including compatriot Gbene Jahara, the title favourite.

Dombie Rita, a 15 year old student from Naawie Primary school landed herself the second place finish for her determination in the last stages of the event held at the regional capital, Wa, on Saturday.

Rita showed enough class in the final 15 minutes but could not match the flying Zuleiha on the day.

Completing the podium was Gbene Jahara from Tumu Sakai Primary school after a magical last turn of gear.

The 13 year old primary five pupil skipped Issifu Mary just on the finishing line after a dreadful start to the race.

Rita earned GHC250 for herself while Gbene Jahara pocketed 200 cedis from the event organisers.
