South Africans protest against US police brutality South Africans protest against US police brutality

Supporters of South Africa's second-largest opposition party, the Economic Freedom Fighters, have protested against racism and police brutality outside the US embassy in Pretoria.

Led by party leader Julius Malema, the protesters knelt for eight minutes and 46 seconds, symbolizing the length of time a white US police officer knelt on the neck of George Floyd resulting in his death.

Mr. Malema was joined by the widow of Collins Khosa, a South African who was allegedly beaten to death by security forces in April after he was accused of breaking the coronavirus lockdown regulations.
