Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited, an agro-commodities sourcing and trading company in Nigeria, has successfully redeemed its ₦25.1 billion Series 1 Commercial Paper (CP) on the maturity date of September 4, 2026.
The redemption was made under the company’s ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme and, according to Sunbeth, demonstrates its ability to meet its financial obligations to investors on schedule.
Sunbeth, one of Nigeria’s major cocoa exporters, received regulatory approval in March 2026 to establish the ₦200 billion CP Programme to support the expansion of its agricultural export operations.
Under the programme, the company issued Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 commercial papers in March 2026.
The three issuances attracted total subscriptions of ₦165.73 billion against an initial target of ₦100 billion. Sunbeth accepted ₦150.4 billion across the three series.
Commenting on the redemption, Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, said the payment reflected the company’s financial management and the confidence investors had placed in the business.
“Meeting our Series 1 obligation in full and on schedule reflects the strength of our business fundamentals, prudent financial management and the confidence investors have placed in Sunbeth,” he said.
He added that the company would continue to prioritise transparency and meeting its financial commitments as it expands its operations across the agricultural value chain.
Chief Financial Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts, Adeyemi Aduwo, said the successful redemption reflected the company’s approach to managing its capital and liquidity.
“Our focus remains on deploying capital efficiently, maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring that our growth is supported by a funding structure that enables us to meet our obligations as they fall due,” he said.
Sunbeth said it has exported more than 200,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans and 60,000 metric tonnes of cashew nuts to international markets since its establishment in 2017.
The company works directly with more than 30,000 farmers and collaborates with more than 250 local buying agents across Nigeria.
Its strategic partners include Cargill, GCB Group, JB Cocoa, Touton, Macquarie and StoneX.
Sunbeth said it currently holds investment-grade ratings across short- and long-term categories from DataPro, GCR, Agusto & Co. and Intelligence Africa.
The company is rated A2 on the short-term scale by all four agencies. Its long-term ratings are A from DataPro, BBB+ from GCR, BBB from Agusto & Co. and BBB+ from Intelligence Africa, with a stable outlook from Intelligence Africa.
Sunbeth’s Commercial Paper Programme is subject to FMDQ Securities Exchange’s disclosure and reporting requirements, which provide investors and the wider market with information on the company’s financial position and performance.
The company said it plans to continue expanding its procurement capacity, strengthening international partnerships and increasing its participation in higher-value segments of the agricultural value chain in Nigeria and across sub-Saharan Africa.
