The Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network has announced that its flagship Annual Global Convocation will return to Accra, Ghana, for the landmark 10th anniversary edition, scheduled to take place from 25th to 30th October 2026.

Under the theme “The Empowerment Journey: Ten Years On”, the 2026 convocation will provide a major platform for reflection, assessment, and forward planning. Delegates will evaluate the impact of women’s empowerment initiatives undertaken by the YAWC Network over the past decade, examine key challenges encountered, and define strategic objectives for the next ten years.

The Young African Women Congress Annual Global Convocation has previously been hosted in several African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, and others, establishing itself as one of the continent’s most influential gatherings for women’s leadership and empowerment.

This year’s edition in Accra is expected to attract thousands of women from approximately 30 countries across Africa and the diaspora, making it one of the largest gatherings of its kind on the continent.

Described as a transformative movement rather than a conventional conference, the Young African Women Congress Annual Global Convocation offers African women and those in the diaspora a powerful platform to build leadership capacity, acquire critical digital and entrepreneurial skills, and forge meaningful connections with a global network of change makers.
