ISIS does not represent me or my religion - Naira Marley

Nigerian musician Azeez Adeshina Fashola popularly known by his stage name Naira Marley, has declared that he is unaffiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) the deadliest terrorist organization on earth.

Despite being a Muslim, the singer revealed that Islamic State does not speak for him or his faith.

Naira Marley who is currently observing Ramadan, stated in a tweet on Tuesday, March 28, that ISIS does not represent him or his religion.

He wrote: "I am a Muslim but ISIS does not represent me or my religion."

Naira Marley once had an impact on the "Marlians," a movement made up of his fans.

At the time, his adherents were well-known for their street fashion and eccentric lifestyles.

However, there were no reports of his cult-like fan group using violence.

Following Naira Marley's decrease in popularity and power, the movement started to lose momentum.

The singer now preaches about religion and morality on his social media accounts.
