Kenya deputy president's daughter marries Nigerian in exclusive event

The high and mighty in Kenya gathered on May 27 to witness a strictly-by-invitation marriage ceremony in the capital Nairobi.

This was when Deputy President William Ruto’s daughter June Ruto exchanged vows with her Nigerian fiancé Dr Alexander Ezenagu at a plush area called Karen, specifically at Ruto's official residence.

The always smiling Deputy President was joined by other top politicians to celebrate the marriage of his daughter.

June happens to the Ruto's first daughter and she works as Charge D'Affaires at the Kenyan embassy in Poland.

Ruto is reported to have challenged her in December 2020 to get married because time was runing out. The marriage took place three weeks after engagement rites.

A local newspaper wrote about the Nigerian husband: Ezanugu is an assistant law professor at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a public university in Qatar’s capital, Doha.

The institution has described him as an international tax expert.

He specialises in international tax law, transfers pricing, tax planning, investment advisory, and commercial law advisory and practice.

The Nigerian national holds a PhD in international tax law from McGill University in Canada and is also a graduate of Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
