Buhari’s son-in-law wanted over alleged $65m fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has declared President Muhammadu Buhari's son-in-law Gimba Yau Kumo wanted.

The notice was put out on Thursday, May 13, 2021.

Reports indicate that Kumo, the former managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria tied the knot with one of Buhari's daughters, Fatima, in 2016 at Daura, Kastina State.

Spokesman of the ICPC, Azuka Ogugua, noted that Kumo and two other suspects, Tarry Rufus, and Bola Ogunsola, were allegedly involved in the diversion of national housing funds to the tune of $65,000,000.

In the notice, Ogugua said: "The persons whose pictures appear above, Mr. Tarry Rufus, Mr. Gimba Yau Kumo and Mr. Bola Ogunsola, are hereby declared WANTED by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in connection with issues bordering on misappropriation of National Housing Funds and diversion of the sum of Sixty Five Million dollars ($65,000,000)."

He called on the general public to be on the lookout for these persons and anyone with useful information on their whereabouts to report to ICPC Headquarters Abuja, any of its state offices or the nearest police station.
