One dead, one injured, as driver flees accident scene

Police are hunting for a driver of a truck registration number UAY 486X who fled from an accident scene in Ntoroko district.

One person died on the spot and the other victim is nursing critical injuries, according to Police.

According to preliminary investigations, the driver whose identity has not been confirmed, fled after he knocked dead Binono Muhindo, a bodaboda rider at Kakoge along Fort portal karugutu-Bbugyo road over the weekend.

Muhindo was riding motorcycle registration number UEW 622b Bajaj-Boxer, with a passenger, Jolly Kyakimwa,58, a resident of Nombe in karugutu.

Kyakimwa, is still nursing injuries at Buhinga regional referral hospital as the police continue to hunt for the truck driver.
