There is no doubt Bob Marley was indeed a very spiritual and philosophical man, and though the reggae pioneer passed away almost four decades ago, the spiritual and political messages in his music and other works, still reflect ongoing happenings in the world and hold insightful value.

Throughout his life, Marley, promoted the rights of the poor and oppressed people, social equality, and justice, and that was largely due to his beliefs and spirituality as a Rastafarian.

In a 1980 interview in the United States with American reporter Gil Noble, the Redemption Song singer opened up on the origins of Rastafarianism and the places of Emperor Haile Selassie and Jesus Christ in the Rastafarian faith.
