The Bright Future Alliance (TBFA), a youth-led civil society organization dedicated to advocating and fostering good governance, fighting against economic crime (corruption), and promoting sustainable development in Africa, has announced the launch of the African Leaders of Influence Lectureship Series (ALILS) — a high-level continental initiative set to redefine leadership dialogue in Africa.

The inaugural edition of ALILS is scheduled to take place in 2026 in Accra, Ghana. The event will bring together Heads of State, senior government officials, development partners, diplomats, policymakers, top business executives, civil society, and youth leaders for an intellectually charged dialogue on Africa’s development and governance future.

The keynote speaker, who is expected to be a former African President or of a presidential status’ story will not only set the tone for the series but also connect with Africans on the continent and in the diaspora on issues of leadership, governance, and nation-building.

Designed as an annual thought-leadership platform, ALILS will offer a unique space for distinguished African leaders to share experiences, stimulate dialogue, and inspire the next generation of leaders to embrace accountable and inclusive governance. The lectureship series will also serve as a living archive, documenting African leadership journeys and lessons for posterity.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, TBFA’s Executive Director, Bright Ofori, emphasized that the lectureship series is inspired by the need to deepen integrity-driven leadership across the continent while connecting seasoned leaders with emerging changemakers.

“Africa’s leadership future depends on the values we nurture today. Through ALILS, we are creating a space where leaders, and African citizens can engage in meaningful exchanges. Across the continent, citizens continue to demand accountable governance, visionary leadership, and practical solutions to the challenges of development. This platform is set to be the voice of Pan-African leadership dialogue.” Mr. Ofori noted.

The initiative follows the success of TBFA’s flagship African Governance and Anti-Corruption Summit 2025, held on 26th June 2025 at the University of Ghana, which attracted the participation of the Speaker of Parliament of Ghana, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin and other notable dignitaries across Africa. That event, organized in partnership with other reputable institutions, underscored TBFA’s growing reputation for convening impactful governance platforms that bridge youth voices with high-level leadership.



Building on this momentum, ALILS seeks to expand the conversation beyond anti-corruption to include sustainable development, inclusive governance, and the creation of self-sufficient African societies. The event aims to encourage Africans to take an active role in shaping governance narratives while strengthening partnerships between governments, international organizations, and the private sector.

Through ALILS, TBFA continues its mission to foster a new generation of visionary, principled, and impact-driven African leaders capable of driving the continent’s transformation in line with global sustainable development goals.
