The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is an annual global mathematics competition involving over 100 countries on five continents for secondary school students.

Before the competition, students are given time to prepare in their nations to enhance their arithmetic problem-solving skills. With a total score of 145, Dabo beat 150 other contestants from other parts of the world last year to win gold.

Aside from winning the gold medal, the Kaduna State government also offered to fund her secondary education and later her university studies.

The thirteen-year-old genius demonstrated her knack for academic achievement by taking the difficult Mensa IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test under strict supervision, only a few months after she won the IMO program.

All School reports that Dabo received an IQ score of 150, putting her in the top 1% of Mensa applicants worldwide. She also recently received a LIMCA Award for memorizing 673 binary numbers in less than 9 minutes in the Memory Championship by Mind Sports Olympiad.

Dabo stated that she hoped to become a doctor in the future.
