South Sudanese President Salva Kiir on Monday held discussions with the visiting Deputy Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, regarding economic and security cooperation between the two countries.
Semaya Kumba, South Sudan's Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said that the two leaders also discussed peace and security.
"We assured our brothers and sisters in Sudan of Juba's unwavering commitment to peaceful cooperation and common development," Kumba told journalists in Juba.
He also reiterated South Sudan's commitment to continuing to enhance friendly relations with Sudan. For his part, the Sudanese Ambassador to South Sudan, Issam Mohammed Hassan Karrar, said that his country is committed to further improving relations with Juba in all areas. Agar led a high-level Sudanese delegation that arrived in Juba on Sunday.
