A 48-year-old Kenyan man has killed his wife with a bow and arrow at Kaptimon village in Elburgon after an argument over maize escalated.

According to a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Wilson Koech attempted to sell the maize but was opposed by his wife and son.

Koech, the police report said, got into a fit of rage and went after his son Collin Kipchumba armed with a machete.

The young man was able to escape and unhurt; his 43-year-old mother however, wasn’t.

Detectives said the suspect turned on his wife shot her through the left breast, killing her on the spot.

He was arrested shortly after and is being processed, awaiting his arraignment in court.
