Selebi Phikwe Police are appealing to members of the public to help them with information that could lead to the arrest of suspect/s, in a case in which a woman aged 64 was found dead at Nkwanapedi cattlepost near Mmadinare.

Selebi Phikwe Police Station Commander, Superintendent Meshack Pulenyane said in an interview that no one had been arrested yet, while police investigations continue.

He said the incident was reported to the police on Tuesday by passersby, who found the deceased lying in a pool of blood.

The deceased is suspected to have been ‘hit’ with a sharp instrument on her head. Superintendent Pulenyane said the deceased’s house was also burnt down, adding however, that valuable items such as cellphones and money were not stolen.

The incident, he said, was the third of its kind to occur in Mmadinare since the beginning of 2020.

He urged the Mmadinare community, especially those who reside in the cattleposts, not to stay alone for the sake of their security.
