Telecom manufacturing giants, *rlg Communications* and the Sports Writers
Association of Ghana (SWAG) have signed a contract that will ensure that the
2010 awards is held to the satisfaction of all sports lovers.
Mr. David Afugani, Chief Marketing Officer of* rlg* *Communications* who
presented 3,000 Ghana Cedis and 25 cell phones worth 6,900 Ghana Cedis said
his company is very much associated with the youth and since it is the youth
who mostly participate in sports; it would be great that *rlg* *
Communications *are part of the 2010 Awards Nite to be held at the Banquet
Hall of the State House on July 2, 2011.
He said the objective of the SWAG Awards is in tandem with their mission of
celebrating the youth’s effort and enduring their brand to the heart of
Ghanaians.
He expressed that *rlg* *Communications* is a brand that is very dear to the
heart of many Ghanaians and coming on board the SWAG Awards means they are
in to contribute positively.
“As stake holders in the development and promotion of the youth and sports,
it is right that those who excel in their respective disciplines are
rewarded adequately” he noted.
According to Mr. Afugani, sports can not strive without the media and it is
good that Ghana has energetic sportsmen and women as well as a vibrant
media.
He adviced sportsmen and women to train hard and wait for the right time to
ripe and shine, when they will be rewarded with crowns or medals, as there
is no short cut in sports.
“Step by step you will reach the top, there is no need to rush or take the
short route. Work hard and one day you will be rewarded” he cautioned the
media and youth.
Mr. Ackah Anthony, President of SWAG assured *rlg* *Communications* of the
mileage that they expect because the media in Ghana love to write and report
on sports.
He acknowledged that *rlg* *Communications* symbolizes excellence, while
SWAG rewards excellence.
*rlg* *Communications* manufactures computers and mobile phones that are
friendly to the African climate.
As part of the contribution, *rLG* *Communication* will feature prominently
in promotional campaigns, including event brochure and advertisements in
both print and electronic media of the 36th Awards Night as well as the
opportunity to present some awards on the occasion.
about 800 guests are expected to grace the night which will attract all the
sporting media in Ghana.
