Experienced football administer, Kofi Manu ‘Blue Boy’ has disclosed that President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Ben Nunoo Mensah had an agenda to remove former GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi from office in 2009.

The faithful disciple of the Kwesi Nyantakyi led administration revealed that he was invited by the GOC president to a meeting with the agenda to axe Kwesi Nyantakyi from office. Blue Boy espoused that he turned down the chance to be part of that agenda although it was in the interest of his political party which was in government at the time.

Kofi Manu who was also part of many football administrators and officials exposed in the Anas Number 12 documentary called out Nunoo Mensah as being behind events that led to Kwesi Nyantakyi’s eventual exit from office in 2018.

“You see when Nunoo Mensah makes such statements he’s trying to let us visit the old times. This Nunoo Mensah and his cohorts in 2009 had an agenda to remove Kwesi Nyantakyi from office, they invited me to Castle Annex and I told them that I can’t do that even though our party is in power we can’t interfere. They continued that agenda until they got Kwesi Nyantakyi out,” Kofi Manu told Metro Tv on Wednesday.

Kofi Mau’s revelations come days after the former Hearts of Oak Board member, Nunoo Mensah said that some football stakeholders have an agenda to dent the achievements of Kurt Okraku.

“There are so many challenges in our football, no matter how good you do, there are people out there, who will go up there and pull him down but at the end of the day, your good works will show,” the GOC President said.

Blue Boy who has become a constant critic of the Kurt Okraku led administration added that his disagreement with some decisions taken at the GFA is not an intention to destroy the current FA administration as espoused by the GOC president.

He said, “The way he thinks and organizes to destroy somebody that’s not how someone thinks.”
