Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Charles Taylor has made a shocking revelation of how players were told to lose games because of accumulated unpaid bonuses.

According to the ex-Phobian, the club had challenges paying bonuses for the team to fix games.

"During our time at Hearts of Oak, we were sometimes told to lose games because of unpaid accumulated bonuses," Taylor told Kumasi FM

"They will tell us to lose the game because there is no money to pay us."

Despite the financial struggles, the Phobians were a fearsome side in the late 90's and the early 2000's winning several titles including the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Taylor had two stints with the Rainbow club, first between 2000 to 2003 and from 2008 to 2010.
