Desailly Quits Football

Ghanaian-born French football legend Marcel Desailly says he is set for retirement in the next three months. The defender who just ended a deal at Qatar club, Al Qatari, had initially stated that he intended to move to the English Premiership ! to continue playing for at least one season before hanging his boots with rumors rife that Portsmouth Manager Harry Redknapp has declared his intention of signing the former Chelsea defender.

Desailly told CITI FM that upon careful thought, which included his age consideration, he has decided to quit the beautiful game and allow the young ones to continue.

?I think I?m old now and I have to leave the game for the young ones, ?he added.
