Founder and owner of Ghana Premier League side King Faisal Babes Alhaji Karim Gruzah has revealed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has a minimum wage for players in the top-tier league.

In an interview with Franklin Oteng-Appau Papin on Wednesday, May 13, Alhaji Gruzah said he pays some of his players less than the GH¢600 while others receive more depending on each player’s quality.

This comes in the wake of a statement by former Ghana goalkeeper Abukari Damba on the need for the FA to structure a minimum wage policy for Ghanaian players.

Alhaji Gruzah told the host of Onua Agoro Fie on Onua TV that the GFA’s minimum wage of GH¢600 for players is in the statutes.

According to veteran football administrator, some receive less while others receive more.

The difference in payment, he argued, is based on the performance of players and it is so because players are registered based on their quality.
