Black Satellites coach, Francis Oti Akenteng, says his team?s preparations for the West African Football Union tournament in Abuja is shaping up well.
The national under-20 side began residential camping last week to fine-tune their build up to the competition, which kicks off later in the month.
Oti Akenteng believes winning the four-nation tournament will further enhance the team?s prospects ahead of next year?s African under-20 qualifying series.
?It was not a vintage performance but at least it gave us some indications and we also saw some problems which we need to tackle today. It is an on-going process,? Oti said.
?This team has been put together to qualify for the African Youth Championship next year and also for the World Youth Championship.
It?s an opportunity for us to correct mistakes and expose the boys for the ultimate and we would be happy if we win the tournament.?
The Black Satellites yesterday beat division one side, Swedru All Blacks 1-0 through a late Prince Tagoe strike.
