GFA president Kurt Okraku commended for good work

Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, the Ghana Football Association President has not chalked six months in office, but has received a commendation from top international sports personalities and Ghanaians.

Leslie Koroma, CEO of African Sports Ventures Group in the USA has hailed the GFA President and invited him to an online sports conference on May 25.

He said the young Ghanaian FA President is amazing and with the support of Ghanaians he can really change the game.

The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ben Nunoo Mensah has also hailed Kurt Okraku and said though the Black Meteors could not qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games, they did quite well and should be encouraged.

The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah also praised the GFA boss who is also a sports journalist and promised to support him.

Both the Presidents of FIFA and CAF have pledged to support Ghana Football.

On the local front, in spite of a few critics which is normal, Kurt Okraku seems to be very comfortable doing what he promised to do.

Many young footballers are hopeful he will change the game.

Also many football managers and coaches are hopeful things would be better as the look to a great future.

For many years, the Ghana Premier League (GPL) has not been exciting and fans were not attending matches, but since he took over, the population of football supporters have been increasing.

Top local derbies between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics have attracted the crowds.

Even new clubs like Legon Cities FC have won the hearts of football fans as they also come with top entertainers.

Since Kurt Okraku took over, the Communications Department of the GFA has been improved and now vibrant, especially on Social Media,

The Women’s Football department has seen tremendous improvement as all the clubs have good PR outfits who are promoting their players and teams.

Playing turfs have been improved, though there is more to do by the government to put up more standard sports fields across the nation.

Many of the sports media say “so far, so good” and Yours Truly urges the Executive Committee and all those working to make Ghana Football come out better to put in all effort to ensure success.
