Mohammed Kudus must add goals to his game to seal Newcastle move

Mohammed Kudus, touted as one of Ghana’s promising stars has conquered the hearts of many suitors with his purple patch form in the Danish Super Liga this season.

His versatile attribute to play in any of the attacking positions places him in a great position to move away from Nordsjaelland with Newcastle United the latest to join the long-standing queue of suitors.

However his goal return could be deciding factor if Newcastle United will move in for the Ghana international.

The Magpies’ potential new owners, a group of investors backed by the bottom-less pocket of the Saudi Arabia crown prince are ready to splash the cash in reinforcing the club, and the Ghanaian has been mentioned in the news as one of the targets they have set their eyes on.

The in-demand attacker has managed just nine goals in 19 league games for FC Nordsaelland so far, and he scored two league goals in 4 matches this year before the suspension of football, last finding the back of the net in a 2-1 win against Esbjerg in February 2020.

“If this ownership takeover happens for Newcastle United, there won’t be a lot of transfers that don’t feel realistic,” a top source close to the club told Sportscorna.com when queried on the possibility of the move.

“I think Kudus has the pace and potential to be special, but his consistent goalscoring in the Danish Super Liga I will not be Surprise if he joined them.”

That said, Newcastle’s strikers the quartet of Joelinton, Yoshinori Muto, Dwight Gayle and Andy Carrol have managed just a solitary goal between them so far this season, and there is a sense the new owners might look to swing the axe on one or two of these ones.

“I think Newcastle will look to move a couple of those strikers, and it will all depend on who will be managing the club next season to determine if Kudus would pair up top with Joelinton or go solo.”

The Ghana international will not be short for suitors this summer in any case, as a host of clubs based in Germany, France, Italy and the English Premier League are said to have explored ways of recruiting his services.
