Former Hearts of Oak captain Yaw Amankwah Mireku has no regrets over his career choice to be a footballer.

Mireku enjoyed an illustrious playing career with Hearts of Oak before having a brief spell at Indian side Viva Karela in 2007.

The now 40-year-old was a mainstay in the Phobian side that conquered the local league as well as Africa, winning the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

His superb club form saw him represent the Black Stars of Ghana sixteen times.

During an interview with Accra-based Asempa FM, Amankwaah Mireku said, “If I die and come back ten times, I will always want to be a footballer”.

“I am not really a wealthy person because of football but I will never say I have regretted playing football," he concluded.
