Ghanaian football icon Charles Taylor has lashed out at local coaches, calling them liars, cowards and incapable of boldly taking decisions without influence or interference from their superiors.

The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko great has scolded Ghanaian coaches for always sucking up to their bosses even when its obvious they are being told to do what’s contrary to their coaching methods or practices.

Taylor says he has lost trust in local coaches because they are liars, not bold and will always be inferior to white coaches.

The former Ghana international said “Ghanaian coaches are not bold, because they know that when they are sacked they will lose their bread and butter so they are always doing ‘Yessa Massa’ (sic)

“The whole world, its Ghanaian coaches that cringe and bootlick. Some go to camp and when its evident they have no money to even buy water, they deny when it comes to the limelight.

“It’s senseless, if we don’t change we will never match up to the White coaches who are firm and independent minded” he said.

Taylor further lambasted local coaches saying that its pointless hiring them.

“Ghanaian Coaches are worthless, they cannot even take decisions on their own, management force players on them which they cannot refuse. When results go south, they will even accept the blame when they didn’t even cause it”

“They are liars, no Ghanaian Coach can deny not being forced to select a player by a management member. But they will deny and say its their own decision. They are liars”

“They don’t have the balls to stand for what is right. That is why the expatriate coaches come and go because they don’t tolerate these things” he noted.

Charles Taylor was speaking in an interview with Asempa FM. During his career he also played for local clubs like Great Olympics and Berekum Chelsea.
