Players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have welcomed the actions of the club’s Executive Board Chairman in the aftermath of their defeat to Division One side Asokwa Deportivo.

In a secret recording that made its way into the media space, Kwame Kyei was heard venting his frustrations on the players.

Kwame Kyei’s use of words like ‘stupid’ and ‘trash’ has been described as harsh by some of the club’s fans who say that he went overboard with his criticism.

But Angel FM’s Saddick Adam’s is reporting that the players though shocked have received his outburst in good fate.

He claims that the players have admitted that their performances in their last few matches have been below expectations and will work to turn it around.

“Spoken to a couple of Kotoko players. Apparently, they're in overwhelming support of what the club chairman did. They admit their performance on the day was not a Kotoko level. They agree with Dr Kyei bcos he's never spoken to them in this manner and he does a lot good for them”, Saddick posted on Twitter.

This will come as refreshing news for the Porcupines who have faced some turbulent times this season.

A three-match ban behind closed doors elapsed only for the NSA and Sports Ministry closing down the Baba Yara Sports Stadium temporarily.

The club has also been at the centre of juju scandals after it fielded ten players in a match against Aduana Stars.

Players of the club have also been alleged to be indulged in the use of black magic to cause injuries to their teammates.

Meanwhile, the FA has confirmed that Kotoko’s net home game which is against Bechem United will be played on Friday.
