Aduana Stars coach WO Tandoh on Thursday, February 20 took Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu to the cleaners, describing him as ‘village coach who plays village football”.

In an interview with Accra-based Angel FM, Tandoh took a swipe at his ‘senior colleague’ and raised doubts about his competence as a coach.

“Maxwell Konadu is a village coach and came to play these village tactics in Dormaa. He is a disgrace to Ghana Football and the new generation of footballers. He doesn’t deserve to coach a national team. If Kotoko send these bush tactics to London, Hearts will beat them”.

The angry outburst from the former military officer has drawn reactions from coaches, journalists and fans alike.

Black Stars B coach Ibrahim Tanko described the conduct of Tando as ‘unprofessional’ and asked him to give Konadu respect as his senior in the profession.

There were similar comments from veteran coaches JE Sarpong and AK Edusei who in these bush tactics separate interview with Asempa FM spoke of their anger with the Aduana’s boss’ comments.

An incensed JE Sarpong said that he would have replied if he was the subject of the ‘misguided attacks”.

AK Edusei called on the coaching association and Ethics Committee of the FA to punish Edusei.

In a Twitter thread, Jerome Otchere, editor of Kotoko express described WO Tandoh’s comments as ‘uncouth’ and ‘irresponsible’.

On the Asempa morning sports show, Ghanaians who called into the show slammed the coach. One of them said WO Tandoh ‘spoke like a drunkard’
