Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Edward Odoom has refuted claims his side are under pressure to beat Asante Kotoko on Sunday. The Phobians will host the Porcupines at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 6 of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.

Ahead of the game, there have been suggestions that the Phobians are feeling the heat to beat Kotoko who have in recent years been the more successful of the two teams, especially in Accra.

According to coach Edward Odoom who spoke exclusively to Ghanaweb, preparation for the much-anticipated not any different from other games, adding there’s no mounting pressure on the 20 Ghana Premier League champions.

“Preparation has been very good. We are relaxed and there is no pressure on us.” Hearts of Oak have picked up seven points in their last 3 outings after losing two consecutive games in the opening fixtures of the season. However, coach Odoom’s charges seem to have found their rhythm at the right time and are back to winning ways.

Hearts of Oak overcame Liberty Professionals in their last league game from a goal down to win the match 2-1.

Hearts of Oak are expected to replicate last weeks form when they host the Porcupines on Sunday, but Odoom believes the team will approach the game with the same optimism they’ve maintained in their last few games.

“We have taken it as a normal game because every match is three points and Kotoko against Hearts its three points. We need the three points and nothing else,” Coach Odoom told Ghanaweb.

Victory for any of the clubs at the Accra Sports Stadium will see them move into the top four places on the league table whiles a defeat will deepen their wounds on the League log.
