Watch the launch of Ghana Premier League 2019/2020 season

After many months without football action, finally, the Ghana Football Association launches the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season at a pumped ceremony at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The event is being attended by Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah as the special guests, together with all stakeholders in Ghana football.

The event will also give a platform for clubs to unveil their jerseys and strips for the new season.

The launch precedes the start of a new football league season, with the Ghana Premier League which kicks off 7 days later on December 27, 2019 whiles the Division One League and the Women’s League are slated for January 2020 kickoffs.

The MTN FA Cup and the Sanford Women’s FA Cup competitions are also expected to start next year.

This will be the first time league football is returning to Ghana since June 2018, when a documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, resulted in the truncation of football activities in the country.

Early this week at the 25th Ordinary session of the GFA, congress approved of the 18-team league system.
