Black Stars B to fly to Burkina Faso on Saturday ahead of crucial second leg

Ghana’s Black Stars B team is set to depart the shores of Ghana for Burkina Faso on Saturday morning ahead of the second leg of the final qualifiers to the CHAN tournament.

The Stars lost the first leg of the tie 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium a couple of weeks ago and now face a daunting task going into the second leg.

Coach Maxwell Konadu and his side need to upset their opponent in Ouagadougou this weekend by scoring two or more goals to secure qualification to the CHAN tournament.

According to Kofi Asare Brako who the spokesperson for the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture, the Black Stars B team will be airlifted by a chartered flight to Burkina Faso on Saturday morning.

“As they play in the return leg this weekend, the team will be airlifted via a chartered.

“Airforce flight to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on Saturday morning and return immediately after the match on Sunday night”, the PRO said.

Meanwhile, all per Diems owed the players from their participation at the WAFU Cup of Nations tournament has been paid by the Ministry with the assurance that they will have all the support they need.

The match between Ghana and Burkina Faso will be played on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
