Normalisation Committee Spokesperson Dan Kwaku Yeboah has built and handed over to the Ghana Football Association an online web portal to manage and promote local football content.

The website, whose previous domain name was www.ncspecialcompetitions.com, has now been changed to www.ghanapremierleague.org with cost of creation and management assumed by the multiple award-winning broadcaster.

During the NC Special Competitions the website provided all-round content which included statistics, fixtures, results, pictures, video content, interviews, club details like coaches, players, GPS details of various national stadiums, match reports etc, previews.

Ghanapremierleague.org is expected to be the autonomous portal of the Association with a dedicated team of up-to-speed reporters to provide exclusive details on the Association’s flagship products – the Ghana Premier League, Division One League as well as other lower-tier leagues and women’s football.

The vision of the multiple award winning journalist is to see Ghana follow in the footsteps of proper football jurisdictions like England, Germany, France, Italy, Holland and Spain where independent web portals exist to manage and promote local club league football.

This initiative was non-existent in previous Ghana FA administrations as the FA’s website has always been used to offer some details of the Ghana Premier League, Division One and Women’s football.

“This is another challenge I think needed to be addressed. You can check with all proper leagues in the world like the La Liga, the Premier League, the Serie A in Italy, France’s Ligue 1 and the German Bundesliga managing and promoting of these leagues are not done with their national association’s websites,” he told Ghana Sports Online.

With the website coming into place it would arm both the local and international media with the right details they would need to help in promoting our league.

“We used to have instances where even league tables and other details were wrongly represented on the FA’s website. This is simply because focus and attention isn’t solely on the leagues. This is another step in shifting the gear to autonomy,” he added.

Kwaku Yeboah has also presented a Communications Policy to the Ghana Football Association to help streamline the information flow and media relationship strategies.
